Veteran Advocacy Group is a VA Accredited firm dedicated to providing support to our Nations Veterans and families who are seeking the benefits they have earned. While we will file initial claims on a case-by-case basis, for most initial claims we will offer our expertise and guidance ensuring the veteran is informed of the benefits they are entitled to as well as their rights and the laws that protect them. We always encourage Veterans to seek professional guidance for their initial claim through their local county Veterans Affairs office or VSO office such as the American Legion, the DAV or the VFW. We at Veteran Advocacy Group are also Available for support in filing your initial claim, however; the other VSO's will file for you.
REMEMBER, IT IS PROHIBITED BY LAW FOR ANYONE TO CHARGE A FEE FOR INITIAL CLAIMS!!
At Veteran Advocacy Group, we are VA Accredited Claims Agents. Claims Agents and Attorneys are the only accreditations legally permitted to charge a fee for filing appeals. This includes all appeals before the BVA that are necessary as a result of denied initial claims. As your VA Accredited Claims Agent we will work closely with you to achieve the positive outcome of the appeal that you deserve. We will file your appeal and work diligently to compile any and all evidence necessary for a positive adjudication of your appeal.
The VA and Office of General Counsil permit VA Accredited Claims Agents and attorneys to collect fees for their services related to the appeal process. Upon a successful adjudication of an Appeal, the VA will compensate Veteran Advocacy Group 20% of any owed retroactive pay. This fee is contingent on a successful appeal. This means we only get paid if we win the appeal and the fee is paid directly from the retroactive pay by the VA. In the event the VA fails to withhold the 20% fee upon a successful adjudication it will be paid by the Veteran upon receiving their past due pay. While it is rare that the VA will neglect to withhold the fee per our fee agreement, it does happen.
In most cases the Veteran will not pay any upfront or out of pocket fees, however there are some instances where it is necessary for us to collect a fee up front. Some of the upfront costs may include travel to and from hearings before the board of Veterans Appeals and office related expenses specific to the Veterans appeal. There may also be times where we will have to hire outside experts in specific fields in order to substantiate the evidence and data we collect. in these situations, the fees will be paid directly by the veteran. We do everything we can to not depend on outside entities, however; in some cases, an expert analysis, diagnosis or nexus is warranted for a positive outcome of the appeal.
We are sure to go over the entire Fee agreement with every Veteran, as well as their rights and the laws that protect them.
